We are changing how high-definition AM parts are produced
Our story
Our starting point was not a lab thesis or a novel phenomena in search of an application.
It was a production reality.
Photopolymer 3D printing was rapidly becoming part of everyday dental manufacturing because it offered excellent surface quality, accessible hardware, and scalable workflows. At the same time, metal 3D printing remained much harder to deploy. Although it offered exceptional design freedom, its high operational demands, substantial resource requirements, and labor-intensive post-processing made it impractical for many applications—particularly those requiring a high-quality surface finish.
This gap became especially clear through the experience of one of our co-founders, the inventor behind a major dental metal soft-milling material. When he searched for a viable 3D printing route for producing metal dental parts, the process burdens of existing approaches became difficult to justify for many professional laboratories and production centers. voxelcast was created to address this mismatch from the system level.
We developed a different architecture: a precision photopolymer shell, a high-purity metal slurry, controlled consolidation and drying, and a modular hardware concept designed around accessible, scalable production. Although the project was initially developed for metals, we soon demonstrated its huge potential for ceramics.
From 2021 to 2026, the voxelcast project evolved through continuous industrial testing, material development, process control and workflow engineering. Developing a production technology requires more than fragmented expertise of optimizing individual steps. Therefore, we are committed to cross-disciplinary and relentless problem-solving to understand and control the interactions throughout the process chains. Equally important is our repeated exposure to real production constraints, operator needs, and cost structures — to ensure that our solutions are not only innovative, but practical and scalable.
Our full-stack development platform has now demonstrated the complete, controlled and repeatable process sequence. Founded in 2026, voxelcast AG is now advancing the platform toward industrial deployment by expanding process automation and validating pilot-scale repeatability. Our ambition is to make high-quality metal and ceramic AM more accessible for broader range of professional production environments.
Our voxelcast system reflects the team and the company behind it: engineered as an integrated system, grounded in production reality and designed for agile industrial use.
